Common questions about enrolling

Can my employer pay for this? +
Yes. Many participants use professional development budgets. We can provide documentation to support your PD request, including a program description, learning objectives, and invoice. The first-six-sessions option at $1,000 may fit within standard PD allowances.
What if I miss a session? +
All sessions are recorded and available for lifetime access. We encourage live attendance for the interactive elements like breakout rooms and Q&A, but many participants watch recordings when scheduling conflicts arise.
Is this only for entrepreneurs? +
No. Our participants include consultants, investors, nonprofit leaders, internal change agents at larger organizations, cooperative founders, and people in career transitions. If you care about building a more just and regenerative economy and want practical business tools to do it, this program is for you.
What is the time commitment? +
The training is 18 sessions that take place over the course of 9 months. On average most participants dedicate ~3-4 hours per month for the training. All sessions are recorded for independent review. Each session includes (optional) content for synthesis and integration (exercises/homework) as well a number of supplementary reading and multimedia resources. Some of these are directly referenced in the session and some are presented for additional learning. Review of these materials is optional. The program is designed for working professionals with full lives.
Can I start with the first six sessions and continue later? +
Yes. The $1,000 intro covers the first six sessions. If you decide to continue to the full program, the remaining balance is charged in monthly installments. You can also rejoin any future cohort at no additional cost.
How is this different from a traditional MBA? +
The Next Economy MBA teaches many of the same core business concepts and skills as a traditional MBA, but applies them from a socially just and regenerative perspective. It also covers topics not found in traditional programs: cooperative ownership, non-extractive finance, B Corp certification, racial justice in business, and self-managing organizations. The program costs a fraction of traditional MBA programs and is designed for working professionals. This training is not an accredited, institutional Master of Business Administration training.
What do alumni say about the program? +
Alumni consistently report gaining practical skills they apply immediately, from financial modeling and organizational design to cooperative development and stakeholder engagement. Many describe it as the education they wished they had gotten in business school. You can read more testimonials and alumni stories on the main course page.
