“The teams that feel safe together, they perform great in almost any circumstances.” - Joe Hudson
In this episode of Next Economy Now, Kevin Bayuk, a Partner at LIFT Economy, interviews Joe Hudson. Joe is the founder and managing director of One Earth Capital. He has decades of both corporate experience in helping build companies in personal development, sustainable agriculture, and financial services and deep involvement in philanthropy. Joe has committed himself to a life of self-exploration and inner reflection across multiple platforms – neurological, psychological, and spiritual.
His projects include improving education in inner cities and the restoration of several riparian habitats in the South West United States. Alongside his role as venture capitalist, he is also the managing director of the DBJ Foundation. He spearheaded the first venture capital company to focus on sustainable agriculture and was the largest investor in the first sustainable agriculture IPO on Nasdaq.
In this podcast interview, Joe shares how his personal journey of transformation intersected with his experience as a venture capitalist with the core insight that successful investments were highly correlated with awakened/developed entrepreneurs. This opened a pathway that has led him to his current work of “making awakening ubiquitous.” He still invests as a venture capitalist and gives as a philanthropists while simultaneously working with individuals and curated groups on facilitating personal awakening.
In the podcast Joe discusses the stages or steps of shifting perspective and awakening and the impacts of how becoming more awakened leads to changes in business leadership behaviors. Joe also describes some of the projects and managements teams he has been gifting to, investing in and supporting like Hand in Hand Parenting and Mindfulness in the Classroom (Inner Explorer). You’ll also hear from Joe that he does not invest in anything that does not have the potential to reach 10 million or more kids a year. Finally, Joe shares some of his insights about the future of food production and the possibilities of awakened sales and awakened marketing.
